A great greasy spoon diner with awesome bacon and hashbrowns. The biscuts & gravy are pretty good and the portion sizes are just right - not too big, not too small. You leave feeling satisfied without feeling over stuffed. I thought the omlet prices were a tad high at nearly $8.00. They come with toast & hash browns. Had to order bacon on the side making it a $10 breakfast. I wish they had waffles but the other menu items make up for it. The staff are warm & welcoming and the crowd friendly folks, some who looked weather-worn like they've worked hard all their lives. A down-to-earth no frills place situated on a dirt parking lot but super friendly with great food. We will be back for the bacon for sure. Note that the phone number listed on this site is wrong (check phone book for correct phone), and mapquest puts them in Canada (oops). They are in Savage, MN just west of 35W on Hwy 13. And they've painted their building beige - no longer blue like in the photo posted here.

We'd passed by The Windmill a few times over recent years before finally stopping in, and I'm glad we did. On this cold, snowy Saturday morning the Windmill was a busy place. We were greeted at the door and seated ourselves, with our beverage orders taken shortly thereafter (the coffee refills were very regular!) There's a BIG menu here, complete with a menu item not priced but called "The Regular" in reference to their many regular patrons. My gal had corned beef hash, eggs and toast while I had chicken fried steak with two eggs, toast, and hashbrowns. Sausage gravy smothered the chicken fried steak -- this is no light fare!

Don't pass this by if you have a chance to visit. It's a cut above your average chain and prices are fair and properly reflected the portion sizes. Well worth a stop; we will surely be back.
